I’ve been tuning in to LBC radio, catching James O’Brien’s show. Now, I don’t know the bloke, and I’m quite new to this station. I’ve tried a few other presenters, but Nick Ferrari’s style didn’t quite click with me. It seemed a bit off, not making much sense. I prefer a more balanced approach, you know?
Sangita Myska, on the other hand, knows how to take on those bigots. Her passion is contagious, but I don’t always see eye to eye with everything on her show. It can feel a bit like an echo chamber at times, but that’s how it goes if you only listen to one presenter.
Now, Shelagh Fogarty, she offers another perspective. To be honest, LBC seems more independent and level-headed than the BBC. I’m not convinced by the argument for a non-commercial BBC. Channel 4, now that’s a decent model, isn’t it?
There are a few other hosts on there, but their names slip my mind right now.
Anyhow, James O’Brien, he does a lot of self-reflection, delves into unconscious biases and why they’ve come about. It aligns better with the way I see things.
This here’s my first attempt at a review, just my two cents. It’s not hard facts, so no need to take it personally. LBC is just another show out there, part of how society keeps its head on straight.
I’d like to see our society start looking out for one another, you know? Live in a country where trust isn’t in short supply. Maybe stop hating folks just because some news show says so.
Now, who am I to give the nation a talking-to, you might ask? Well, I’ve voted, paid my taxes, been born and bred here, and even laid folks to rest in this land. That’s why I think I’ve got the right to speak my piece.
This is freedom of speech, not freedom to be a right git.
