Mrs Brown’s Boys

I’ve been thinking, you know, why don’t some people get it? Is it because they’re put off by the whole scripted and rehearsed thing? I mean, it’s just a bit of make-believe comedy, all in good fun.

Maybe it’s the style of humor that doesn’t quite tickle their funny bone? Seems a bit snooty, if you ask me, if that’s the problem.

Or perhaps it’s the Irishness of it that’s throwing them off? Could be, I suppose.

So, what’s the issue for some folks? I quite like it, it’s simple, easy to understand, and sometimes even teaches a little life lesson.

Could it be the spiritual aspect that’s bothering them? Is it the dark history of the Catholic Church that’s unsettling?

I hope not, it’s not that serious, just a sitcom, not some grand psychological experiment. It touches on things people might relate to, brings out the good stuff in life, and paints a cozy picture of a family.

We tend to find what we’re looking for in things, but let’s be honest, that portrayal is quite far from reality, isn’t it?
