Just had a spin on Heart 80s.
Hear those wolves howling? They’re just trying to find their pack.
The ’80s, a time when it felt like the rich were always getting the upper hand, thanks to the government.
First past the post, it’s been that way since the King stirred up trouble with Parliament and came up short.
Will the rich take on the government? Will the government cozy up to the wealthy?
The rich and the poor, two sides of the same coin, always have been, always will be.
It’s all about balance, you see. The rich can’t dominate the poor without wrecking their own foundation. Uncontrolled capitalism? Bad news for the economy.
When all we care about is making money, we’re like addicts burning up our own turf. Does that make any sense?
So, why the ’80s? That’s when the mistrust really started to brew. The newspapers of the day didn’t help, with their hired pens stirring the pot, then and now.
Bribes aplenty. Thatcher, well, she basically tried to sell folks shares in stuff they already owned. Tax money? That was the government’s stash, not the taxpayers’… her words, not mine.
If you admire Maggie, you’ve got to wonder why she pulled off this big con… servative move.
Sunak, Truss, and Johnson? They’re the latest chapters in the story of Thatcher’s One Nation Tories. Tories will be Tories.
No judgments here, but please, think twice before voting for them again. Not until the devil’s skiing, and heaven’s open for business again.
